Getting results in a split second

Processing an algorithm with all of the necessary calculations take computing power. We have developed a unique indexing process to make optimal use of this limited resource. This process has been optimized to such a degree that (for example) the FACT-Finder Suggest module delivers response times of just a few thousandths of a second, even though each character typed by the user is a separate and independent search enquiry. A longer search duration would simply not be acceptable from a usability standpoint.

New technology for modern times

Before 2007, performance was improved simply by increasing the operating frequency of the processor. Since then the semiconductor industry has proceeded toward improving performance by integrating multiple cores within each processor chip. FACT-Finder can make excellent use of this: primary tasks such as the search process are handled simultaneously by several processor cores. The result is that each doubling of the number of cores improves FACT-Finder's performance by a factor of 1.6.
